Jika pada Jilid 1 pastoral konseling diletakkan dalam kerangka konseptual dan teologis sebagai bagian integral dari Missio Dei, maka Jilid 2 ini secara khusus memperluas dan memperdalam penerapan pastoral konseling dalam berbagai konteks kehidupan nyata umat. Fokus pembahasan diarahkan pada dinamika praktik konseling pastoral yang berhadapan langsung dengan kompleksitas pergumulan manusia, baik pada tingkat personal, keluarga, maupun komunitas, di tengah perubahan sosial, budaya, dan spiritual yang terus berlangsung. Buku ini disusun dengan kesadaran bahwa tantangan pelayanan pastoral di abad ke-21 semakin beragam dan kontekstual. Krisis relasi, luka batin, konflik sosial, tekanan psikologis, serta persoalan iman yang dialami umat menuntut kehadiran konseling pastoral yang tidak hanya bersifat normatif, tetapi juga empatik, dialogis, dan transformatif. Oleh karena itu, pastoral konseling dalam jilid ini dipahami sebagai ruang pendampingan yang menghadirkan kasih Kristus secara nyata, meneguhkan martabat manusia, serta membuka jalan bagi pemulihan dan pertumbuhan iman yang berkelanjutan. Jilid 2 ini bertujuan untuk memberikan kontribusi lanjutan bagi pengembangan pastoral konseling yang bersifat aplikatif dan kontekstual. Secara akademik, buku ini diharapkan memperkaya kajian teologi pastoral dengan refleksi yang berangkat dari praksis pelayanan.
